Lost

I lost my sunglasses today.

No, this is not earth shattering news.  I did not loose my car in a ginormous mall parking lot.  I did not become separated from my beloved child at said mall.  I did not misplace my cell phone…again.

You see, while I am enjoying the great outdoors, I need my sunglasses.  The sun feels harsh on my eyes.  The warmth on my skin feels like magic kisses but my eyes have become dependent on the shade provided by the dark tinted, thin plastic.  The sunlight looses its sharp edges, the burning blast becomes an inviting glow.

Travel can feel like this.  Our dependency on the familiar.  The warmth of excitement, we feel, discovering new places.  The magic of adventures on our journeys.  Although, the harshness of flight delays, the sharp edges of an unknown road, unexpected expenses, are ever present when we step out our doors.  All these components of traveling can impede achieving relaxation we so desperately desire.

Let Soul Experiences be your “sunglasses”.  Let our experience shade you from the harsh reality of traveling.  Journey with us and let us soften the barrier between you and rejuvenation.

Travel well my friends!

P.S. I found relief from the sun after I pulled my shades from the top of my head. 🙂

Autumn Rain

It is raining here.  It is a gentle, steady rain.  One that makes you want to curl up under the blankets and read for a while.  It is not the stormy violent rain. It is not the foggy, drizzly rain.  It is gentle, cleansing, even refreshing.  I do not pretend to predict the weather but I am sure I enjoy the varied and numerous events.  Travel is like the weather.  It can be foggy and drizzly, not sure where you are going or even trapped in an seemingly endless guided tour, where all you truly want is to see what the people across the way are engaged in.  It can be intense, almost violent, unending lines at airports, military occupied regions,….shopping malls.  Hopefully most of your travels, like mine, are the kind that make you feel warm and cozy, on the inside.  Whether you are skydiving over Australia or swinging in a hammock on a lonely stretch of beach somewhere, make sure you are getting the most soulful and completing experience wherever you are.

Millions

Be one in million!

It is no secret, Autumn is my favorite season. Changing colors, cooler temperatures, homey scents wafting through the air, awakens in me my slumbering soul.

Traveling far and wide I love coming home to leaves of different vibrant hues. Reminding me of all the unique qualities of our neighbors. Each of us has it within us to be vibrant. Embrace your our uniqueness. Stand out from the crowd. Be thankful for who you are today, striving to be more each day.

Travel well my friends!

Simple Treasures

Image

Travel moves my soul.  It makes me feel alive.  It helps me to gain perspective on our big wide world.  I desire travel like I desire my children’s happiness.  The mountains call to me, the beach beckons, faraway lands whisper for me to explore.  The path that was not taken will always be my favorite passage.  I want to stumble through snow in July and trudge through the tropics in February.  I want to venture to the top of the next ridge and look over an unexplored valley.  I need to board a train with no particular destination in mind.

On this day I wish you happiness, inner peace and a sense of adventure in all you do.  Even if travel is not your inspiration, enjoy the simple treasures around you.  They abound even when life is crashing over you, there will always be a blessing for you.  Look closely and enjoy the day.

Travel well my friends.

Soulful

The calm of the early morning hours in my home are some of the most reflective moments I have in a day. Not the scramble of waking teenagers or the preparing for the day but the dark quiet time before the day really begins.
My alarm is the first to sound in the dark of the morning, waking me to a groggy wakefulness that I am sure resembles the ambling of the living dead. Soon my zombie like stumbling straightens out and I am more human, if still groggy. This time of moving through the quiet of my home I feel peaceful. I usually sit in my sunroom, wrapped up in a blanket, either reading or writing.
I look deep within myself in these precious minutes, searching for inspiration to guide my day. It is a time for my soul to refresh. These few soulful moments help to guide my day and focus my heart in all I do. Then, the days “to-do-list” starts running through my mind, a never ending barrage of chores, and I know my day is officially beginning.
Let the calm of your thoughts help refresh your soul and guide you in all you do.
